What is your hometown?
Jacksonville, born and raised.
How long have you been doing triathlons, running or swimming?
I’ve always been very active though where I attended school, cross country and track was not open for girls so I didn’t pick up running until after graduation. Running has always been my preferred sport, but in 2014 a severe stress fracture changed my method of training and I began swimming and cycling. In June of 2015 I completed my first triathlon and was hooked. Since then I’ve completed multiple sprint and Olympic distance triathlon and in 2016 completed Florida 70.3 and Ironman Wisconsin.
What is your favorite mantra?
“Go for it”, and “no obstacles”.
What is your zodiac sign?
What is your favorite piece of training equipment?
I’m loving the new Garmin 735xt. I appreciate the built in HR monitor the most. I also love my Zebra (Cannondale Slice)!
If you were a t-shirt, what color would you be and why?
Black. No frills. Stealth mode.
What is your nickname?
My most recent nickname is Ironmom – “I’ve got what you need.” I like to come prepared for anything.
What is your favorite pre-race meal?
Peanut butter on a bagel. Banana slices on top if I’m feeling lucky, and always a GU just a few minutes before race start.
What do you do to recover from a hard workout?
The first thing after any workout has to be a cold Coke Zero, but Fairlife chocolate milk and Normatec boots are usually not far behind.
What is your favorite race?
My favorite right now is Ironman Wisconsin. It was my most recent race and the venue and crowd support is phenomenal. I could do with fewer hills on the bike course though!
